Job Description:

An opportunity has arisen for a CNC Machinist/Mechanical Machine Operator to join a leading UK manufacturer of data centre infrastructure, telecom enclosures, outdoor cabinets and modular data centre solutions for critical industries including telecommunications, rail, utilities, defence, and enterprise data centres. 

Working within a well-equipped workshop, you'll use your machining expertise to support refurbishment, repair and manufacturing activities, helping to maintain the high standards required across a range of technical engineering projects.

Your responsibilities as CNC Machinist/Mechanical Machine Operator

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines and workshop equipment
• Interpret engineering drawings and determine machining processes and sequences
• Manufacture and refurbish components to precise tolerances and specifications
• Use measuring equipment including callipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy
• Support tooling modifications, fault diagnosis and reverse engineering activities
• Maintain workshop standards in line with safety procedures and 5S principles

What we’re looking for in a CNC Machinist/Mechanical Machine Operator

• Extensive experience operating and setting manual lathes and milling machines
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Mechanical engineering qualification at ONC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent standard
• Previous apprenticeship, machining qualification or equivalent practical expertise
• Experience using precision measuring equipment and working to tight tolerances

Working Hours
20 hours per week with full flexibility to work either half days or full days.
