Manual Room Operative
Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire
Job Type: Permanent,
Full-Time Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Shifts: Day Shift, Monday – Friday
EMBS Engineering is currently recruiting for an experienced Manual Room Operative to join our client, a world-class motorsport and powertrain engineering business, on a permanent basis. Key Responsibilities
- Setting and operating manual machine tools and NC machine tools (mill and lathe) to a high standard
- Working to tight engineering tolerances on precision components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
- Creating methods of manufacture and supporting process documentation
- Operating XYZ machine controls
- Training apprentices and creating and managing training plans
- Working both independently and as part of a wider manufacturing team
- Supporting continuous improvement and high throughput manufacturing targets
Must-Have Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience setting and operating manual machine tools and NC machine tools (mill and lathe)
- Apprentice trained
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience with XYZ machine controls
- Ability to create methods of manufacture
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook)
- Logical approach to problem solving with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to train apprentices and manage training plans
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a team
- Must already hold the right to work in the United Kingdom
Desirable Experience
- Experience working to AS9100 or ISO9001 quality standards
- Grinding experience
- Background in Automotive or Aerospace precision manufacturing
