Contracts Manager – Groundworks & Civil Engineering
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well-established groundworks and civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure packages for leading housebuilders across the North West.
Due to continued growth, the business is looking to appoint a third Contracts Manager to oversee a number of established site teams and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
This is a hands-on management role suited to someone with a strong background in residential groundworks who enjoys leading teams, maintaining client relationships, and driving operational performance.
The Role
- Oversee approximately 10–11 two-man site teams operating across multiple live projects.
- Manage groundworks and civil engineering packages for national and regional housebuilders.
- Plan, programme and coordinate works to ensure projects are delivered on time.
- Lead and motivate site teams, ensuring productivity and quality standards are maintained.
- Carry out regular site visits across Lancashire and the wider North West.
- Liaise with clients, site managers and commercial teams.
- Ensure all works comply with health and safety legislation.
- Monitor labour, plant and materials to maximise efficiency.
- Resolve operational issues and provide technical support where required.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Contracts Manager within groundworks and civil engineering.
- Strong residential groundworks experience working for housebuilders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong planning, organisational and communication abilities.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Full UK driving licence.
