Position: Contract/Permament

Location: HinkleY Point C

Duration: Initial CED 31/12/2027

Pay: up to £550 PAYE - £750 Umbrella

Job Purpose

The Electrical & Mechanical Governance & Assurance Manager is to be based at Hinkley Point C Nuclear power station. They will be responsible for ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, Company and Client policy and procedural compliance and have the utmost regard for staff, contractor, and public safety. This role will act as the Electrical Duty Holder and Safety Rules Champion for the Principal Contractor and will determine the strategic direction of the electrical and mechanical work areas.

The Electrical & Mechanical Governance & Assurance Manager will be responsible to the Head of Site Risk Management and Control of Work utilising the Principal Contractor statutory requirements under the Construction (Design and Management) regulations to control and coordinate activities, to allow the safe execution of works on site at Hinkley Point C. This role will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of all activities at HPC involving the HV (high voltage) System and LV (low voltage) networks including installation, modifications and alterations, energisation, the transition between non-permanent and permanent electrical systems and the decommissioning of redundant systems and networks on site.

The Electrical & Mechanical Governance & Assurance Manager will be the HPC subject matter expert for all electrical works at HPC.

Operating Environment

Working as an integral member of the HPC Construction Team, the Electrical & Mechanical Governance & Assurance Manager will be responsible for managing a dynamic team of professionals, ensuring that all works involving electrics on site are conducted in a safe manner and are subject to comprehensive procedures and polices meeting legislative, policy and best practice standards. This role will be also be responsible for planning and delivering the transition between non-permanent and permanent electrical systems and for planning and controlling the decommissioning of redundant systems on site.

Framework & Boundaries

The site-based management role holder will work with the NNB Construction, Safety and Delivery Teams, Tier 1 and DMIC Contractors within the HPC Site. They will ensure all HV and LV electrical works are delivered and coordinated in accordance with safe working practices and procedures and deliver a comprehensive schedule of assurance activities across electrical and mechanical works.
