Electrical Supervisor – Water Industry

Salary: £24.50 per hour / Circa £53,500 per year
Hours: 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Travel: Paid travel time in addition to contracted hours

J3A Recruitment is working with an established engineering contractor looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Supervisor to support a growing portfolio of long-term projects within the water and wastewater sector.

This is a permanent position offering excellent long-term stability, with projects delivered across operational water treatment sites ranging from smaller works through to major multi-million-pound schemes.

You’ll take responsibility for supervising electrical teams on site, ensuring installations are completed safely, correctly and in line with programme requirements, BS7671 and client specifications.

What will you be doing?

• Supervising teams of Electricians, Improvers and Apprentices
• Coordinating electrical works across operational water sites
• Ensuring installations comply with BS7671
• Making sure works are delivered safely and to programme
• Working closely with design and compliance teams
• Ensuring installations meet client specifications and project quality plans
• Monitoring site Health & Safety standards
• Promoting a positive safety culture across site
• Coaching and mentoring Electrical Improvers and Apprentices
• Managing your own workload and project responsibilities
• Ensuring electrical works are completed to a high standard

The position carries genuine responsibility for electrical installation quality, site safety and supervising the workforce through delivery.

What are we looking for?

You’ll need previous experience working as an Electrical Supervisor, ideally within water, utilities, industrial engineering or another process-driven environment.

Essential requirements include:

• ECS Gold Card
• SSSTS or equivalent
• Previous Electrical Supervisor experience
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Emergency First Aid or First Aider certification
• Ability to manage works with minimal supervision

Experience within the water industry or industrial electrical sector would be particularly advantageous.

Additional qualifications such as 2391 Test & Inspection, CompEx, EUSR Water Hygiene, PASMA, IPAF or Confined Space would also be beneficial.
