Electrician, Small works

Join a Growing Electrical Business | Build Something Good With Us
Company: Next Level Electrical Ltd
Location: Kent
Engagement: Self-employed
Remuneration: Competitive rates, dependent on experience and agreed work
Requirements: Electrical Gold Card and own van
Next Level Electrical Ltd is a growing electrical contractor with an increasingly busy workload. With two electricians already on the tools, we're looking to bring another experienced, like-minded electrician into the business on a self-employed basis.
We're not simply looking for someone to turn up, complete a job and move on. We're looking for a good electrician, someone who takes pride in their work, treats customers properly and understands that doing a job right is far more important than doing it quickly.
A large proportion of our work comes through Checkatrade, which means our reputation, customer feedback and reviews are incredibly important to us. Every job matters, whether it's a straightforward domestic electrical repair or a larger installation.
We are building something good at Next Level Electrical, and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey.
What's involved? This is a varied opportunity, with two main elements to the role.
1. Managing and delivering Checkatrade enquiries
You'll take responsibility for our incoming Checkatrade work, which will include:
Responding to incoming customer enquiries.
Speaking directly with customers to understand their requirements.
Arranging site visits where necessary.
Pricing and quoting for individual jobs.
Managing the customer relationship from initial enquiry through to completion.
Carrying out the work to a high standard.
Ensuring customers are happy with the finished job and encouraging positive feedback and reviews.
You'll effectively have ownership of this workload, so we're looking for someone who is confident dealing with customers, understands domestic electrical work and can price jobs commercially.
2. Supporting our existing installation team
Alongside the Checkatrade work, there will be opportunities to:
Carry out smaller domestic electrical installations independently.
Work alongside our existing electricians on larger projects.
Provide additional support when workloads increase.
Assist with domestic and smaller commercial electrical installations.
Help maintain the quality and standards we want Next Level Electrical to be known for.
There is a good variety of work available, and we want someone who is happy to be flexible and work as part of the wider team.
Who are we looking for?First and foremost, you need to be a good electrician.
We're looking for someone with:
A recognised electrical qualification and current ECS/JIB Gold Card.
Extensive experience working within the domestic electrical sector.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
Experience carrying out domestic installations, repairs and upgrades.
The ability to price jobs accurately and understand labour and material costs.
Confidence dealing directly with homeowners and customers.
Your own reliable van and tools.
A professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.
The ability to work independently while also being a genuine team player.
You'll need to be comfortable taking responsibility for your own workload, managing customer expectations and representing Next Level Electrical professionally.
The sort of person we're looking forThis is probably the most important part of the advert.
We're a small business, and everyone involved makes a difference. We want someone who genuinely cares about the quality of their work and understands the importance of building a good reputation.
We're not interested in someone who rushes through jobs just to get to the next one. We'd much rather have an electrician who takes the time to do things properly, leaves a customer's property clean and tidy, communicates well and delivers a job they're proud to put their name to.
If you're someone who takes pride in your trade, enjoys working with good people and wants to be part of a business that values quality over quantity, we'd like to hear from you.
What's on offer?Self-employed working arrangement.
Competitive rates, reflecting your experience and the work undertaken.
A consistent pipeline of domestic electrical work.
The opportunity to take ownership of your own jobs and earnings.
A varied workload, with a mixture of independent jobs and larger installations.
Support from an established small team of electricians.
The opportunity to become an important part of a growing local electrical business.
We appreciate that joining a new business is a two-way decision. You need to know that we're the right fit for you, just as much as we need to know you're right for us.
We're more than happy to welcome interested electricians onto site to spend a couple of days working alongside us on a trial basis, so you can get a feel for the business, meet the team and see the type of work we undertake.
