Job title: Financial Accountant

Contract length: 6 months 

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, is currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Accountant on behalf of a well-established global confectionery and manufacturing organisation to play a key role in supporting the Financial Reporting team.

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements for UK legal entities and ensuring audited financial statements meet statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing Financial Statements for UK legal entities reporting under UK GAAP from US GAAP management accounts and financial records.

• Coordinating and executing multicurrency consolidations across UK group and overseas subsidiaries.

• Collaborating with corporate reporting teams, external auditors, service centres, Financial Controllers, and business units to ensure accurate financial data is delivered on time.

• Acting as a key point of contact for external auditors, handling audit queries, and effectively resolving or challenging issues where required.

• Supporting the provision of financial information to external tax advisors for Corporation Tax reporting and assisting with tax disclosures in financial statements.

• Managing statutory reporting processes across 12 legal entities, consolidating multiple operational ledgers.

• Providing technical financial accounting advice, training, and expertise to UK business units with a high degree of autonomy.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant with post-qualification finance experience (or ACA newly qualified with 1 year experience, or QBE with strong relevant background).

• Proven statutory reporting experience and strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and financial statements.

• Excellent double-entry bookkeeping expertise (debits, credits, and ledger mapping).

• Demonstrable experience dealing directly with external auditors and managing audit requests.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, data analysis).

• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize large volumes of work, and meet tight deadlines.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience using Onesource (OSR) reporting software.

• Strong knowledge of fixed assets accounting and intercompany consolidations.

• Practice background or dedicated statutory reporting experience in industry.
