About the Role
The Fire Damper Mate will assist Fire Damper Engineers with the inspection, testing, installation, maintenance, and reporting of fire dampers and associated access systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within the fire safety and compliance industry.
Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Fire Damper Engineers during inspections, testing, and installation works.
Help access fire dampers located within ceiling voids, risers, plant rooms, and roof spaces.
Install and remove ceiling tiles and access panels where required.
Assist with the installation of fire dampers, access doors, and associated components.
Carry tools, materials, and equipment safely around site.
Record asset information and take photographs using company mobile devices.
Maintain clean and organised work areas.
Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and site rules.
Assist with loading and unloading vehicles.
Support engineers in completing works efficiently and professionally.
Communicate effectively with clients, site managers, and colleagues
Essential Requirements
CSCS Blue Card.
Good attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces.
Good level of physical fitness.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Full UK Driving Licence (preferred but not essential).
Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications
Working at Height Training.
Asbestos Awareness.
Previous experience in construction, HVAC, fire safety, ductwork, or building maintenance.
Experience & Qualifications
Understanding of Fire Safety Order 2005 and Building Regulations.
Familiarity with TR19® Fire Damper Guidance and fire safety compliance requirements.
Ability to read technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
Good communication and report-writing abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
