Your Role

Amber Labs is looking for a skilled Frontend Developer with strong React.JS expertise to join our engineering team on a confidential government transformation programme. You’ll be building secure, scalable web applications across the frontend, touching on some NodeJS too, contributing to mission-critical digital services used across the UK public sector.

What You’ll Do

As a Frontend Developer, you'll design & develop modern, responsive web applications using ReactJS and TypeScript/JavaScript- working in a cross functional agile delivery team within the UK public sector. 

Responsibilities

• ⁠Translate designs and user requirements into production-quality software.
• ⁠Build reusable, maintainable components and frontend services.
• ⁠Integrate frontend applications with REST/GraphQL APIs and backend services.
• Deploy and manage services in AWS (ECS, Cognito, SQS).
• Exposure to containerisation using Docker/Kubernetes.
• Collaborate across DevOps, design, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Maintain code quality through GitLab CI/CD and peer reviews.

Your Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in Frontend development with React.js
• Strong understanding of HTML/CSS/Vanilla JS fundamentals.
• Experience with other frontend frameworks (Next, Vue, etc.)
• Familiarity with CI/CD best practises.
• Be comfortable with backend API's, databases and DevOps workflows/CI/CD.
• Proficiency in AWS services and cloud-native deployments.
• Comfortable working in agile, collaborative environments.
