Job Description:
Our clients are consulting engineers, specialising in the provision of counter terrorism advice, security design, blast and ballistic engineering, weapons effects on structures and hostile vehicle mitigation.
Having opened a new Edinburgh office recently, they are looking for a civil/structural engineering graduate to join the team, this is a great opportunity to be part of a growing office and wider national team. You should be enthusiastic, driven, and willing to learn.
Founded in civil/structural engineering principles, the role will include calculations, sketching, and consulting on a range of engineering and security projects.
Requirements
- Engineering Degree (Bachelors, Masters or PHD)
- Knowledge of civil/structural/mechanical analysis methods for code compliance
- Knowledge of structural material properties and models
- Understanding of the construction sector
- Use of engineering techniques to problem solve non-typical engineering issues
- Hardworking and self-motivated
- Must be a UK national or hold residency for 5 or more years
Desirable Attributes
- Use of CAD packages
- Knowledge of civil/structural/mechanical dynamic analysis methods
- Knowledge / experience of blast and impact effects
- Finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a multi discipline team both internally and with other professionals on the Clients Design Team.
