Graduate Java Developer

📍 Location: Near Ipswich, Suffolk (4 Days Office / 1 Day Remote)
💰 Salary: £30,000-£35,000 + Benefits

The Opportunity

Mploy Group is partnering with a growing software company developing innovative SaaS solutions used by organisations across the UK and internationally.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to launch their software engineering career within a supportive, collaborative environment. You'll work alongside experienced developers, gain exposure to real-world projects, and develop the technical skills needed to become a successful software engineer.

The Role

As a Graduate Java Developer, you'll contribute to the development, enhancement and maintenance of modern software applications whilst learning industry best practices and gaining hands-on commercial experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop software solutions using Java and modern web technologies
• Build new features and enhancements for a SaaS platform
• Fix bugs and support continuous product improvements
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities
• Work closely with developers, testers and product teams
• Contribute to technical discussions and design reviews
• Assist with requirements analysis and solution development
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
• Learn software engineering best practices from experienced colleagues
• Take increasing ownership of development tasks as your skills grow

About You

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of core Java principles
• Passion for software development and technology
• Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience gained through university projects, placements or personal development work
• Understanding of Agile methodologies would be beneficial
• Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn
