The Role
The Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor will support the delivery and implementation of the company's Health, Safety & Wellbeing Management System across multiple construction projects. They will work closely with site teams, subcontractors and clients to promote best practice, ensure legal compliance and drive a positive safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Promote compliance with company Health, Safety & Wellbeing procedures across all projects.
- Carry out site inspections, audits and monitoring activities.
- Support project teams with risk assessments, method statements and statutory compliance.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, producing reports and recommendations.
- Provide practical Health & Safety advice to site teams and subcontractors.
- Attend project and client meetings to support Health & Safety performance.
- Monitor PPE compliance and safe working practices.
- Promote continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practice sharing.
- Keep up to date with current Health & Safety legislation and industry standards.
- Support the development and improvement of company management systems.
Education, skills and experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- NVQ Level 4-6 in Occupational Health & Safety (desirable).
- CertIOSH or CMIOSH membership (desirable).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Health & Safety role with a recognised main contractor.
- Strong knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and build positive working relationships at all levels.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems
