JML are on the look out for an experienced Construction Logistics Manager

Job Purpose:
The Construction Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all logistical operations on a construction project to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely movement of personnel, plant, materials, and equipment. The role is critical in maintaining site productivity, minimising disruption, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Site Logistics Management
- Develop and implement the project's logistics strategy and logistics plan.
- Coordinate site access and egress for personnel, deliveries, plant, and subcontractors.
- Manage delivery schedules to ensure materials arrive safely and efficiently.
- Oversee traffic management plans and vehicle movements on and around site.
- Ensure site routes, loading zones, storage areas, and welfare facilities are maintained.
Material & Resource Coordination
- Coordinate material deliveries with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor storage areas and ensure materials are stored safely and securely.
- Manage plant and equipment allocation across the project.
- Work closely with procurement and site teams to ensure resources are available when required.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with company procedures and site rules.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and CDM requirements.
- Ensure pedestrian and vehicle segregation is maintained at all times.
Team Management
- Manage logistics operatives, traffic marshals, gatemen, and labour resources.
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor performance.
- Ensure adequate site coverage for deliveries, access control, and logistics support.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle movements, incidents, and site logistics activities.
- Produce logistics reports and KPI data.
- Monitor logistics budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Construction Logistics Manager on construction or civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of construction site operations and logistics planning.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- SMSTS and CSCS Managers Card (Black)
- NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in Construction Management (desirable)
