Maintenance Manager
Location: Birmingham
Salary: upto £62k plus benefits
Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a heavy engineering business to recruit a Maintenance Manager for their site in Birmingham.
Responsible for a team of Maintenance Supervisors, the Maintenance Manager will be accountable for the day to day performance, planning and resource management.
This is a key role for someone who enjoys leading people, improving processes and shaping a more proactive approach to maintenance.
The Role
- Oversee planning and delivery of all maintenance and engineering activities
- Drive a shift towards a proactive maintenance culture
- Manage employee relations, absence, holidays and resource planning
- Identify training needs and support development across the team
- Produce and maintain Maintenance KPIs, ensuring targets are met
- Plan and evaluate plant shutdowns, including labour and spares
- Maintain high compliance levels across PM and CM systems
- Ensure SAP data is accurate, detailed and updated by the craft teams
- Manage documentation including risk assessments and method statements
The Person
- HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or apprentice trained
- Proven experience leading a large Maintenance function
- Background in a medium to heavy engineering environment
- Strong track record of improving maintenance performance and reducing downtime
- Able to analyse problems logically and deliver practical solutions
- Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
- Health and Safety qualification is desirable
