Job Description:

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000
Location: EH41
Shift Pattern: Days - Monday to Friday

An established manufacturing business is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join its engineering team at its site in the EH41 area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer looking for a stable days-based role within a well-established production environment.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, repairs, and installation work across a range of production and processing equipment. Working closely with the engineering and production teams, you will help ensure machinery reliability and minimise downtime.

• Perform planned preventative maintenance on plant and machinery.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently.

• Carry out equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.

• Assist with breakdown response and root cause analysis.

• Ensure maintenance records are completed accurately.

• Work in accordance with health and safety procedures at all times.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.

• Experience working within a manufacturing, production, processing, or industrial environment.

• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Monday to Friday days-based role.
