MEP Estimating Manager

Leeds

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + car allowance + package

Our client is a major national Tier One Building Services Contractor with a strong track record of delivering large-scale MEP projects across the UK.

They are now looking to appoint an MEP Estimating Manager for their Leeds office, with a clear preference for a mechanically biased estimator who understands how to price and win major D&B work.

The Role

This is a key appointment within the pre-construction team, leading the estimating function on large-scale Building Services tenders. The successful candidate will take responsibility for producing commercially robust, mechanically biased estimates on major design and build projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of large-scale MEP / Building Services estimates

• Take ownership of mechanically biased D&B tenders from enquiry through to handover

• Review drawings, specifications and employer’s requirements

• Work closely with design, operational and commercial teams during bid stages

• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations

• Assess commercial risk, value engineering opportunities and programme implications

Requirements

• Must come from a Building Services / MEP contracting background

• Must be mechanically biased and have operated at least at Senior Mechanical Estimator level

• Must have strong D&B estimating experience and be design-aware rather than design-led

• Must have tendered for large-scale projects

• Must have worked for either a Tier One national contractor or a strong regional independent competing at this level

• Must show a stable career history with a proven track record
