Job Description:
We are supporting a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of medical products, known for its commitment to innovation, quality, and patient care. With an international presence and strong NHS partnerships, they are looking to appoint an Operations Manager to lead their distribution centre.
This is a key leadership role focused on driving operational performance, ensuring compliance, and delivering continuous improvement across logistics, facilities, and workforce management.
🔹 The Role
You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a national distribution centre, ensuring efficient logistics, strong inventory management, and a high-performing team environment.
You will also play a key role in shaping operational strategy, improving processes, and maintaining a safe and compliant site.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
Distribution and Logistics
- Lead daily operations across warehousing, inventory management, fulfilment, and dispatch
- Drive improvements in logistics efficiency and cost control
- Monitor KPIs and performance metrics to identify and implement continuous improvements
- Collaborate with suppliers, transport partners, and internal stakeholders to optimise the supply chain
- Maintain high standards of customer service and operational delivery
Budget Management
- Manage and control the distribution centre budget
- Analyse financial performance and identify cost-saving initiatives
- Support forecasting and resource planning with senior leadership
Health and Safety
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Conduct audits, risk assessments, and promote a strong safety culture
- Implement training and investigate incidents to drive continuous improvement
Facilities Management
- Oversee maintenance, security, and site functionality
- Manage third-party service providers and contracts
- Lead facility improvement projects to enhance efficiency and compliance
🔹 Requirements
- Proven experience managing a distribution centre or warehouse operation at scale
- Strong background in supply chain, logistics, and inventory management
- In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance
- Experience driving operational improvement initiatives such as Lean or Six Sigma
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability with KPI management experience

- Experience within healthcare, medical devices, or regulated industries
- SAP EWM experience
- IOSH qualification
- Full, clean driving licence
