Operations Manager – Building Services / Facilities Management

Location: South London
Salary: £60,000 per annum
Sector: Building Services / Facilities Management

We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the delivery of high-quality building services and facilities management across a portfolio of sites in South London.

This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone with a strong engineering/building services background, or an experienced FM professional who has successfully managed hard services including M&E, HVAC, electrical, mechanical and statutory compliance.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operational performance of the contract, ensuring engineering services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing engineering and hard FM service delivery across multiple sites.
• Leading and supporting engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Managing planned and reactive maintenance performance.
• Ensuring all statutory, compliance and health & safety requirements are met.
• Monitoring KPIs, SLAs and operational performance.
• Managing client relationships and attending regular operational meetings.
• Overseeing subcontractors and specialist service providers.
• Managing budgets, costs and operational resources.
• Identifying opportunities to improve service delivery and efficiency.
• Supporting mobilisation, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

You’ll ideally have an engineering qualification or building services background, although strong hard-services FM experience will also be considered.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Proven experience managing hard FM / building services operations.
• Strong knowledge of M&E services and building maintenance.
• Experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors.
• A good understanding of statutory compliance and PPM.
• Strong client-facing and commercial skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A practical, hands-on approach rather than purely administrative FM experience.

Salary: £60,000
