Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Company Vehicle + Benefits

Our client is embarking on an exciting new chapter, launching a dedicated Air Source Heat Pump and Air Conditioning division.

The business is already seeing growing demand and being approached to quote for projects within both sectors. The opportunities are there, the business is ready to invest, and now they need the right person to come in, take ownership and build the division from the ground up.

We're looking for someone with genuine experience in Air Source Heat Pumps, Air Conditioning or ideally both, who has the ambition, technical knowledge and entrepreneurial mindset to make this happen.

Ideally, you'll have previously helped establish a new division, department or operation within an existing business. You'll understand what's required to get a new operation off the ground, from installations and industry accreditations through to building a team, developing processes and ultimately delivering a profitable division.

The opportunity

Initially, this will be a hands-on role. You'll be responsible for establishing the division, putting the necessary infrastructure in place and ensuring the business has the technical capabilities, accreditations and resources required to deliver projects successfully.

That means being prepared to get involved in installations yourself during the early stages. We need someone who is happy to lead from the front, demonstrate the standards expected and do whatever is necessary to get the operation established.

As the division develops, your role will naturally evolve. The longer-term objective is for you to take full responsibility for leading and growing the division, overseeing installations, managing people, developing client relationships and driving its commercial success.

What will you be responsible for?

• Establishing and launching the company's new Air Source Heat Pump and Air Conditioning division.

• Getting all relevant industry accreditations, certifications and compliance requirements in place.

• Developing the technical and operational infrastructure required to deliver installations.

• Getting hands-on with installations during the initial setup phase.

• Reviewing incoming enquiries, undertaking technical assessments and supporting the preparation of quotations.

• Establishing installation standards, processes and quality control procedures.

• Identifying equipment, materials, suppliers and subcontractor requirements.

• Building and developing an installation team as demand increases.

• Managing projects from initial enquiry through to installation and completion.

• Developing relationships with clients, suppliers and industry partners.

• Taking responsibility for the division's performance, profitability and future growth.

• Ultimately leading and managing the division as it becomes an established part of the wider business.

What are we looking for?

We're interested in people who have the technical experience, but just as importantly, the right attitude and ambition.

Ideally, you'll have:

• A strong background in Air Source Heat Pumps, Air Conditioning or both.

• Practical installation experience and a good understanding of the technical requirements within either or both sectors.

• Experience establishing, developing or managing a division or operation.

• Your F-Gas qualification.

• Knowledge of the relevant industry accreditations, certifications and compliance requirements.

• The ability to build teams, establish processes and develop an operation.

• Commercial awareness, including costing, quoting and understanding project profitability.

• Strong organisational and leadership skills.

• An entrepreneurial mindset and the desire to build something long-term.

Previous experience setting up a new division would be a significant advantage, although we're equally interested in an ambitious individual who has the experience and ability to take that next step.

One important point:

This is not a role for someone who simply wants to walk into an established department and manage it.

During the initial setup period, you will need to be prepared to get involved in installations and the practical side of establishing the operation. We need someone who is willing to roll their sleeves up, lead from the front and do whatever it takes to get the division off the ground.

If you're not prepared to get hands-on during this initial phase, this probably isn't the opportunity for you.
