Purchasing & Planning Manager

East Sussex | Advanced Manufacturing
 
We are recruiting an experienced Purchasing and Planning Manager for a growing, innovation-led advanced manufacturing business.
 
This is a senior, hands-on position with responsibility for production planning, purchasing and scheduling, while leading and developing a multidisciplinary team.
 
Key responsibilities:

• Lead, support and develop a team of four professionals
• Drive production planning, purchasing and scheduling performance
• Maintain 95% on-time delivery to customers and from suppliers
• Develop scalable systems and processes to support continued growth
• Identify and implement operational improvements
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Sales
• Contribute commercial and operational insight to strategic decisions

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 10 years' experience in purchasing and planning within a low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environment
• A minimum of five years' leadership experience
• A strong track record in production planning and purchasing
• Experience within advanced manufacturing
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
• A resilient, adaptable and results-focused approach
• A degree or equivalent experience

Some pre-arranged travel to customer sites, meetings and industry events may occasionally be required.
