The Opportunity:

ISR Recruitment is working with a leading global software organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join its Product & Engineering team.

This is a key opportunity for an experienced software engineer to work on the development of a next-generation B2B SaaS platform, helping shape the architecture, engineering standards and continued evolution of a highly scalable, secure and multi-tenant product used by organisations around the world.

We are particularly interested in engineers who have a strong track record delivering B2B SaaS products, have experience working within multi-tenant SaaS environments, and have built their career around a consistent and stable progression through senior engineering roles.

Skills and Experience:

• 8+ years' commercial software engineering experience, with significant experience in backend development.
• Strong experience delivering B2B SaaS products in a commercial environment.
• Proven experience working with multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
• A strong and demonstrable track record of career stability and sustained tenure within engineering environments.
• Excellent hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core and modern .NET, ideally .NET 8 and/or .NET 10.
• Experience designing, building and delivering production software on the Microsoft technology stack.
• Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience building and deploying cloud-based applications, ideally using Microsoft Azure.

Additional experience with .NET Aspire, OpenTelemetry, OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect, Redis and resilience patterns would be advantageous.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a leading role in the design and development of the organisation's cloud-native SaaS platform.

You will be involved with:

• Design, build and maintain backend services, APIs and reusable libraries.
• Develop high-quality, clean and testable code using C# and modern .NET.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help evolve a scalable, secure and resilient multi-tenant SaaS platform.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and services consumed by web and mobile clients.
• Build event-driven and asynchronous components using technologies such as Azure Service Bus.
• Work with relational databases and develop efficient SQL.
• Build and deploy cloud-based applications, ideally within Microsoft Azure.
• Contribute to automated testing, code reviews and engineering best practice.
• Support continuous improvement, refactoring and performance optimisation.
• Work collaboratively within an Agile Product & Engineering environment.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into robust, production-ready software.
• Mentor and support other engineers and contribute to raising engineering standards across the team.
