Senior Credit Controller

Goole | Temporary Ongoing | £31,500 equivalent salary

I am currently recruiting for a Senior Credit Controller to join a well-established business based in Goole, on a temporary ongoing basis.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team, taking ownership of aged debt, resolving complex invoice queries and working closely with customers and internal stakeholders to drive payment.

The Role

As Senior Credit Controller, you will take ownership of aged and overdue debt, with a particular focus on invoices that are in query or dispute.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of aged and overdue debt, prioritising invoices in query
• Investigating and resolving complex invoice disputes that are delaying payment
• Liaising with internal teams to obtain supporting documentation and resolve customer queries
• Maintaining regular communication with customers via phone, email and meetings
• Providing updates on aged debt, disputed invoices and recovery progress
• Challenging issues constructively and driving accountability for timely query resolution
• Reconciling complex customer accounts and ensuring records are accurate
• Supporting the wider Accounts Receivable function as required

About You

We are looking for an experienced Senior Credit Controller or Credit Controller who is confident taking ownership of challenging debt and complex customer queries.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience within Credit Control or Accounts Receivable
• A proven track record of reducing aged debt and improving cash collection
• Strong experience resolving complex invoice queries and disputes
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Confidence handling potentially difficult customer conversations
• Strong attention to detail and experience reconciling complex accounts
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Experience using finance or CRM systems
• The ability to manage a high volume of queries while maintaining accuracy
• A results-focused approach with a strong emphasis on cash collection
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
