Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Dublin, supporting the delivery of major projects across the Data Centre, Mission Critical, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences and Industrial sectors.
This is a senior position combining mechanical engineering, design management, technical coordination and construction support. You will work closely with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, construction teams and clients to ensure mechanical packages are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required technical standards.
The Role
You will be responsible for supporting mechanical design and delivery across the full project lifecycle, from early design and tender stages through procurement, construction and handover.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing mechanical design packages, scopes of work and technical deliverables.
- Coordinating mechanical design with CSA and electrical disciplines.
- Reviewing designs, drawings, calculations and technical submissions.
- Ensuring mechanical systems meet client, statutory and project-specific standards.
- Identifying design risks, interfaces and scope gaps.
- Supporting project planning, procurement and design approval processes.
- Reviewing designs for constructability and identifying Value Engineering and OSM opportunities.
- Working closely with consultants, subcontractors and site teams.
- Conducting site visits and monitoring design implementation and quality.
- Managing RFIs, design changes, deviations and other technical registers.
- Preparing technical and handover documentation.
- Providing technical guidance to construction teams and supporting junior engineers.
About You
You will ideally have:
- 7+ years' post-graduate experience in mechanical engineering.
- Experience within Data Centres, Industrial, Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences.
- Strong design, technical and construction knowledge.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- The ability to lead meetings and manage technical stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of BIM and Revit.
- Experience working with mechanical packages through design, procurement and construction.
- A strong understanding of constructability, technical compliance and design coordination.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A full clean driving licence.
Experience with mission-critical/data centre projects, main contractors or major MEP contractors, ACC/BIM 360, Value Engineering, OSM or Chartered Engineering would be highly advantageous.
