Senior Planning Officer – Enforcement Walsall (Hybrid Working)
3-Month Contract
Full Time \| Monday to Friday
2 Days Per Week in Office
£35.94 per hour
Lynx Employment Services are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Planning Officer – Enforcement to join a busy Local Authority team in Walsall on a hybrid basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled planning professional with strong enforcement experience to play a key role in managing complex planning enforcement matters and supporting the wider planning service. Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate and manage a varied caseload of planning enforcement complaints and breaches
• Prepare and serve enforcement notices, breach of condition notices, and related legal documentation
• Conduct site visits and gather evidence to support enforcement action
• Liaise with residents, developers, councillors, solicitors, and external agencies
• Provide professional planning advice and recommendations
• Represent the Council at appeals, hearings, and public inquiries where required
• Support junior officers and contribute to service improvement initiatives

Requirements:

Degree in Planning or a related field Previous experience working within Planning Enforcement in a Local Authority setting Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and enforcement procedures Ability to manage complex caseloads independently Excellent communication and report-writing skills
