Senior Urban Drainage Modeller

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for Senior Urban Drainage Modellers to join a growing UK water team working on major AMP8 frameworks and infrastructure projects.
You’ll play a key technical role delivering urban drainage and wastewater modelling projects across flood risk reduction, water quality improvement, storm overflow investigations, and growth planning. This is an excellent opportunity to take technical ownership, mentor junior staff, and contribute to innovative modelling solutions within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership on urban drainage and wastewater modelling projects
Build, verify, and interrogate models using InfoWorks ICM
Deliver solutions for:
Sewer flooding investigations
Storm overflow assessments
Surface water and flood risk studies
Developer impact assessments
Coordinate project delivery, including programme planning and cost estimation
Support the development of new tools, processes, and digital approaches
Mentor and line-manage junior modellers, reviewing and guiding technical outputs
Work closely with engineers, environmental specialists, and project managers
About You
You will be a technically strong modeller with experience leading projects in an urban drainage or wastewater environment.
Essential:
Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Strong hands-on experience with InfoWorks ICM
Experience delivering UK water sector projects (consultancy or utility background)
Ability to lead projects and support junior team members
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable:
Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE / CIWEM)
Experience across AMP frameworks (AMP7 / AMP8)
Exposure to flood risk, surface water, or water quality modelling
