We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a major Kier-led water infrastructure programme, working across the Thames Valley and surrounding areas.
With significant investment being made across the UK water sector, this is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to become involved in major water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment works upgrades, process improvements, pumping systems, mechanical installations and commissioning.
📍 Central location: Thames Valley / Oxfordshire
📍 Projects across: Oxford, Swindon, Reading & Harpenden
💼 Permanent or Contract: Both options available
💰 Contract: Attractive day rate available – dependent on experience
The Opportunity
The successful Mechanical Engineer will work as part of a multidisciplinary project team, supporting the delivery of major water and wastewater schemes.
Responsibilities may include:
Mechanical engineering support throughout project delivery
Mechanical installation, inspection and commissioning
Pumps, valves, pipework and process equipment
Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation
Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
Supporting MEICA integration
Resolving technical issues on site
Ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification and programme

The ideal candidate
We are interested in Mechanical Engineers with experience in:
Water / wastewater
MEICA
Utilities
Process engineering
Industrial or heavy engineering
Mechanical installation & commissioning
Pumps, pipework, valves and associated equipment
Water-sector experience is highly desirable, but candidates from other complex mechanical engineering backgrounds will also be considered.
