National Account Manager - Food Manufacturing

£60,000 - £70,000 + Bonus + Medical + Company Pension +32 Days Holiday

Are you looking for an opportunity to take ownership of relationships with major grocery customers and play a direct role in driving growth at one of the UK's leading food manufacturers?

This leading Food Manufacturer specialises in ready meal solutions for big supermarkets & foodservice providers, having over 100 years of history and a strong footprint both globally and in the UK. They operate several modern production facilities and have benefited from significant investment recently.

In this role you will be responsible for managing and developing key retail customer relationships, acting as the primary commercial contact while ensuring business alignment with customer requirements. Working closely with teams across Operations, NPD, Supply Chain and Technical, you'll create profitable growth, strengthen customer partnerships and deliver against commercial targets

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable Account Management experience within the Food Manufacturing sector and a proven ability to build strong customer relationships. They will be commercially astute, highly organised and comfortable leading negotiations, managing business plans and delivering growth within retail accounts.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Managing a key retail customer relationship and acting as the primary point of contact for the account
• Building and delivering customer business plans to achieve volume, revenue and profitability targets
• Working cross-functionally to ensure customer requirements are understood and successfully delivered across the business
• Leading commercial discussions, pricing activities and negotiations with customers
• Supporting tenders, commercial submissions and new product opportunities
• Monitoring account performance, identifying opportunities and driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Producing forecasts, analysing commercial performance and reporting on key account activity

The ideal person will have:

• Experience in a National Account Manager, Account Manager or similar customer-facing commercial role within Food Manufacturing
• A proven track record of managing relationships with UK grocery retailers
• Experience delivering customer business plans and driving commercial growth
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing pricing conversations
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities
• Strong analytical skills & the ability convert data into commercial insights
