School Administrator (Primary School)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and friendly School Administrator to join a welcoming and supportive primary school near Durham.
This is a full-time, long-term temporary opportunity starting as soon as possible and running until December 2026.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school office, acting as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administrative support within the school office
• Manage front desk duties, including answering calls and greeting visitors
• Maintain accurate pupil records and databases (e.g. MIS systems such as SIMS/Arbor)
• Support attendance monitoring and reporting processes
• Handle correspondence, emails, and general enquiries
• Assist with admissions, enrolment, and school communications
• Support senior leadership with administrative tasks and reporting
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and confidentiality are upheld at all times

About You

• Has previous administrative experience (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
• Is highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Is confident using Microsoft Office and school systems (training can be provided)
• Can work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and a welcoming manner
